While Patricia Wallace has had an interest in “taking pictures” and capturing moments on film for many years, it was not until 2004 that she embraced photography as an art form and her passion for this creative expression soared.
A member of the RA Photo Club in Ottawa for a number of years, Wallace has participated in competitions and field outings and taken advantage of numerous learning opportunities to enhance her photographic skills, both technical and creative. She has been an active learner in Ottawa in a number of group workshops with professional photographers, as well as a course in photojournalism in 2007.
Wallace has also traveled to several far-flung locations (Havana, Cuba; Tennessee; Costa Rica; and more recently, Venice, Mexico, and Montana) to take part in tours with internationally recognized photographers to further expand her prowess with the camera. Two of these occasions were intensive week-long courses with the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Tennessee and Montana.
Since the fall of 2006, Wallace has been a student at the School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa (SPAO), in concentrated short and extended courses in fine art digital printmaking under the tutelage of Michael Tardioli, Director.
